We keep cookies to the minimum needed to run the site and understand, in aggregate, what people find useful. This policy explains what each cookie does, why it exists, and how to manage your preferences.

Last updated: 26 May 2026

This policy applies to whataididnext.com. If our use of cookies changes — for example if we introduce advertising — we will update this page before making that change.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit. They allow the site to remember certain information about your visit — for example, whether you have accepted or declined analytics. Cookies are not programs and cannot run code or deliver viruses.

Cookies we use

This is the only cookie set regardless of your choice. It stores your cookie consent preference — either
accepted
or
declined
— so we do not ask you every time you visit.

Name: waidn_cookie_consent | Purpose: Stores your consent preference | Duration: 1 year | Type: First-party, essential | Data stored: The word "accepted" or "declined" — no personal data

This cookie is technically necessary to honour your privacy choice. Without it, we could not remember whether you accepted or declined analytics. It is not used for tracking.

Analytics cookies: Track n Dash

If you accept cookies, our self-hosted analytics platform (Track n Dash) sets a visitor identifier cookie to understand how the site is being used. This helps us see which articles are read, which links are followed, and how visitors move through the content.

Name: tnd_visitor | Purpose: Anonymous visitor tracking | Duration: Session to 1 year (configurable) | Type: First-party, analytics | Data stored: A pseudonymous visitor ID (hashed, non-personal)

Privacy by design

Track n Dash is self-hosted on our own server. Analytics data does not leave our server and is not sent to any third party. All visitor identifiers are one-way hashed using SHA-256 and rotate daily — they cannot be used to identify you personally or track you across sessions.

Email platform: Brevo

If you subscribe to our newsletter, Brevo (our email delivery platform) may set a cookie when you click a link in one of our emails. This is used by Brevo to track email engagement — for example, whether a link was clicked. This cookie is only relevant if you are a subscriber and click a link in our emails. It is covered by Brevo's own cookie and privacy policies, available at brevo.com.

Advertising cookies

This site does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies for advertising purposes. If advertising is introduced in the future, this policy will be updated before it goes live, and your consent will be sought separately for any advertising cookies.

Affiliate tracking

Where this site contains affiliate links, clicking those links may result in cookies being set by the destination site to track any resulting purchases. We have no control over those cookies. The destination site's own privacy and cookie policies apply.

When you first visit the site, a cookie banner gives you the choice to accept or decline analytics cookies. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site — the banner will appear again.

Through your browser

All modern browsers allow you to view, manage and delete cookies. You can usually find these settings under Privacy or Security in your browser's settings menu. Note that blocking or deleting essential cookies may affect the functionality of some sites.

Third-party cookies summary

Third-party cookies currently in use or potentially set: Brevo (email engagement, subscribers only). Third-party cookies not in use: advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, third-party analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics). We have no plans to introduce these.

Changes to this policy

If we change the cookies we use — particularly if we introduce advertising or new third-party services — we will update this policy before that change takes effect and update the date above. For significant changes, we will notify subscribers by email.
